Zoom! Teeth Whitening

A whiter, brighter smile is beautiful – it can help you feel better about yourself and make a memorable impression.

What causes yellow teeth?

There are numerous types of teeth stains; some are genetic, environmental or pharmacological in nature. The most common are surface stains on the enamel or beneath the enamel in the dentin. Surface stains are caused by foods, beverages and lifestyle behaviors, like smoking. Over time, surface stains may penetrate the enamel and change the color of the dentin, which darkens the overall appearance of the tooth due to the translucency of the enamel layer. When this occurs, the tooth often appears yellow.

There are many at-home procedures like gels, trays, and whitening toothpastes that can help to minimally decrease the yellow teeth. However, common at-home procedures don’t always provide you with the results that you’re looking for and can take weeks to show any signs of whitening.

Zoom! Teeth Whitening

You can avoid root damage, gum recession and sensitive teeth often triggered by at-home teeth whitening systems, by choosing Dr. van Hofwegen and the Zoom! Whitening System. This system is proven to be:

Fast and convenient

The Zoom! Teeth Whitening procedure is simple and comfortable. It begins with a short preparation to isolate your lips and gums. Dr. van Hofwegen then applies the proprietary Zoom! Whitening Gel, which is activated by a specially designed light. The entire procedure last approximately an hour.

Safe, simple & painless

Most people are candidates for Zoom! However, it is not recommended for children under 13 years of age, or for pregnant or lactating women. Dr. van Hofwegen will determine if teeth whitening is right for you after performing a thorough oral examination. Sensitivity during treatment may occur in some people. The Zoom! light produces a small amount of heat, which is usually the source of any discomfort. Very rarely, slight tingling is experienced immediately after the procedure, but quickly dissipates.

Teeth typically become at least six to ten shades whiter, sometimes more.  You’ll be very happy with the results. In most cases, teeth get even whiter the first few days after the treatment.

Long lasting

With proper care and an occasional touch-up at home, your whiter smile will sparkle for years. You will be given a Zoom! home-use touch-up kit that includes custom-fitted whitening trays. Follow Dr. van Hofwegen’s instructions for when and how to use this touch-up kit.
